With over 30 years of combined experience and hundreds of families served, the owners of Modesto Birth & Beyond are passionate about supporting expectant and new families with childbirth education, labor and birth support, breastfeeding support and consultation, postpartum care, infant care, and more.

We work collaboratively with our extended team of birth and postpartum doulas to provide exceptional service, unwavering support, and evidence-based information to empower families during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

MEET SHEILA DANIEL

PCD/CD(DONA), LCCE

Founder + Birth Doula + Postpartum Doula + Childbirth Educator

Sheila is a Certified Birth and Postpartum Doula, Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator, and VBAC Link Certified professional. As co-founder of Modesto Birth & Beyond and an educator in the Made for Birth & Beyond online course, she brings decades of personal and professional experience to the families she supports.

Her journey into birth work began in 1994 after experiencing an empowering birth followed by a difficult postpartum season without enough support. Those experiences inspired a lifelong calling to help families feel informed, confident, and empowered throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

Sheila is especially passionate about honoring each family’s vision for birth, strengthening the connection between parents, and helping partners understand the important role they play. She and her husband raised three children and are now proud grandparents, and supporting growing families remains one of the greatest honors of her life.

MEET BROOKE COZBY

CD/PCD(DONA), LCCE

Founder + Birth Doula + Postpartum Doula + Childbirth Educator + Placenta Encapsulation Specialist

Brooke is a DONA-certified Birth and Postpartum Doula, Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator, co-founder of Modesto Birth & Beyond, and an educator in the Made for Birth & Beyond online course. A wife and mother of three, her own birth experiences deeply shaped her passion for supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

Her journey into birth work began after two Cesarean births followed by a successful vaginal birth after two C-sections. That experience inspired her to become a doula and help others find their voice, advocate for their choices, and feel more confident in their bodies.

Since attending her first birth in 2002, Brooke has supported families through both labor and the early postpartum weeks, helping parents adjust, heal, and thrive. She is especially passionate about replacing fear with confidence through education, reassurance, and continuous support.

MEET CORINNE CHILTON

IBCLC, CD(DONA)

Owner + Lactation Consultant + Birth Doula + Postpartum Doula + Placenta Encapsulation Specialist

Corinne is the third owner of Modesto Birth & Beyond and a certified Birth Doula, trained Postpartum Doula, Certified Placenta Specialist, childbirth educator, and IBCLC. She also holds a degree in Public Health Education and brings a strong focus on postpartum care and infant feeding to the families she supports.

Her path into birth work began after a traumatic first birth and a difficult breastfeeding experience left her feeling under-supported. That experience, followed by two deeply healing home births, inspired her to help create the kind of compassionate, informed support she wished every family could receive.

Corinne is especially passionate about helping parents navigate newborn life, build confidence in feeding, and feel seen, heard, and supported throughout the postpartum season. She and her husband Sam, who have known each other since age 13, are raising three daughters who continue to remind her why this work matters so deeply.

Our team is made up of independent birth and postpartum professionals who are passionate about helping families feel informed, prepared, supported, and confident throughout their journey.

Each professional on our team is an independent contractor, not an employee of Modesto Birth & Beyond. Each doula manages their own professional practice while choosing to work within the MBB collaborative model. They bring their own perspective and hands-on experience while sharing our commitment to safe, compassionate, evidence-based care.

Together, our doulas have supported hundreds of families. We collaborate by sharing on-call time and client care, making birth work more sustainable and rewarding.

Most importantly, this model helps ensure that your family is supported by a rested doula who can show up as her best self when you need her most. We continually learn from one another, share knowledge, and grow together so we can provide the kind of support families deserve.

Before joining MBB's mentorship program, each doula has their own professional training and insurance. With our guidance, they complete credentialing through the health insurance plans we contract with and work towards advanced certifications.

Our team has completed their training, certifications, and continuing education through respected organizations such as DONA International, The VBAC Link, Spinning Babies®, Evidence Based Birth®, and other professional educational programs.
