The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) recommended at the beginning of the pandemic that professional doulas NOT be restricted from supporting their clients. The CDPH order on 8/5/21 states that beginning 8/11/21 hospital visitors/support people must provide proof of full vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours. We have been able to comply with these requirements. Since late 2022, the local hospitals have lessened and relaxed many of the Covid restrictions and protocols. We do not anticipate any restrictions on our ability to provide labor support at the hospital for our clients, but to put our clients’ minds at ease, we have made the following allowances.
With the unpredictability of Covid-19 and some hospital’s response to it;
• If at 36 weeks the hospital you are planning to deliver at is not allowing professional doula support, we will provide Virtual Support OR we will refund $500 of the $950 retainer, only keeping $450 for time spent with you to that point in our Lamaze Childbirth Ed series (and you wouldn’t owe the balance of the contract).
• If after 36 weeks, we will provide Virtual Support OR, if balance has been paid in full, we will refund that balance less the retainer and any ad-ons.
Modesto Birth & Beyond is closely monitoring COVID-19 (coronavirus) and its impact in our community. The health and safety of our clients is our highest priority during this time. While we cannot control the severity or unpredictability of this virus, we can take preventive measures to limit the spread and impact of COVID-19. We are currently acting with prudence in our day-to-day operation with basic preventative safety measures following the guidance set forth by the U.S. Federal Government, Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and other health agencies, including:
Wearing fresh clothes to all postpartum sessions.
Cleaning hands with soap often, for at least 20 seconds.
Using an alcohol-based hand sanitizer when soap and water are not available.
Keeping the recommended 6 feet from people or wearing a mask when that’s not possible.
Cleaning frequently touched surfaces.
Covering cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throwing tissue in the trash.
Staying home when knowingly ill.
We encourage our clients to let us know in advance if there are any concerns or they would like us to take special precautions. We will continue to closely monitor the situation surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic and act accordingly. We also ask that our clients let us know if anyone in their household has tested positive for COVID-19 or is exhibiting any signs of illness.
We hope this alleviates any concerns you may have when choosing Modesto Birth & Beyond. Our Team Members are ready to provide you with exceptional care.
